Deity Dressing & Bastra Care Guide

Dressing deities in pure handloom silk, cotton, and velvet vastra represents an essential part of sacred seva (Rupa Shringar).

Handling Sacred Fabrics: Always wash hands before touching consecrated deity garments. Never mix deity bastra with ordinary household laundry.

Washing Guidelines: Use lukewarm water and gentle, fragrance-free natural soap. For zardozi, kundan, or real zari embroidery, dry clean or gently spot-clean with a soft muslin cloth.

Seasonal Changing: Adorn deities in light Khandua Pata or mulmul cotton during summer (Chandan Yatra and Rath Yatra), and velvet poshak with golden lining during winter.
